Local plan

Shooting a marwari wedding in Pune

Pune weddings run the full range, from a three-hour Marathi muhurat in a Peth wada to a three-day banquet celebration on the Mumbai-Bangalore highway belt. Most muhurats fall early in the morning, so the working light is soft and the schedule is tight.

Night ceremonies, often after 10pm. Full artificial lighting plan needed. In Pune that usually means the crew is at the venue well before the family, with lighting already rigged for the mandap.

Season note: November to February gives clear mornings and comfortable evenings. Monsoon weddings (June-September) need covered mandap plans and fast lenses.

Our Pune team covers the full PMC and PCMC belt plus Lonavala, Ahmednagar and Nashik as a same-day drive.

Questions

Marwari Wedding in Pune

01
Do you have photographers who have shot Marwari Weddings in Pune?
Yes. We assign crews who already know the Marwari ritual order, including Tilak, Mahira Dastoor, Pithi Dastoor, so nobody has to be told where to stand.
02
What time does a Marwari Wedding usually happen?
Night ceremonies, often after 10pm. Full artificial lighting plan needed.
03
How many photographers do we need for a Marwari Wedding?
Two photographers and one cinematographer is the usual minimum for a single-venue ceremony. Where functions run in parallel, or the guest count crosses four hundred, we add a second team.
04
Which rituals matter most photographically?
Tilak (Groom formally accepted); Mahira Dastoor (Maternal family arrives with gifts); Pithi Dastoor (Turmeric ceremony); Baraat and Toran (Groom strikes the toran at the gate). These are unrepeatable, so the crew is positioned before they start.
